What you are asking about is glass setting tape. It was used to prevent metal to glass contact on decorative framing and also for the glass regulator or sash channel. While commonly alled glass setting tape there is no adhesive as the material creates a friction fit. It comes in a few different thicknesses and we do have 1/16" thick, part #10-044X (link below). The material you have posted this question on #10-020X is a "specialized" glass setting material....same idea but for some reason GM used the 10-020X fith the "flap" on some models in 1965.
The vast majority of GM vehicles in the 1960's used the flat type setting tape like our 10-044X. Some people think these were a "U" shaped material but in fact it was flat to start with but will take on the "U" shape after being pressed into the channel for decades.
Below is a link to our 1/16" filler as well as a link to all of the setting tapes and fillers we offer. For GM vehicles, the most common thicknesses are 1/16" & 1/32" thick.
