Thanks for the question. There are a few issues at play here.
1) our site does struggle with over sized items. We have been working on this but it is not perfect, especially when ordering multiple quantities. Shipping should be less than $87 unless you are overseas.
2) we prefer not to roll these. While they are flexible with a segmented metal core, only a few of these type of channels can be rolled. This is the biggest factor at play. As of Jan, 2025, Fedex and UPS have bot issued a huge surcharge on any parcel longer than 4 feet. This particular item ships in a 6 foot special mailing tube. To make it worse USPS, which is typically cheap, has been so bad we have have removed their services as an option.
Sometimes, unfortunately we need to get involved to get you the best rate. Please call us or send an email with the part #, quantities and your complete address. We can run your data through our system and get you an actual rate. I am sorry for the trouble.
