Because this is rubber and "elastic" I am not sure how well a paint would hold up over time. I am afraid when the seal does its "job" and compresses between the 2 sealing surfaces, the paint will simply crack. There may be other ways to color it like a dye that would allow for the seal to compress without failing...again, not sure this will work either but may be worth a shot.
