Hi,
We do offer the correct door seals / weatherstrips for your 54 Special 2 door post sedan. In 1954, 1955 & 1956 there were 2 types used. Both types are glue down but 1 type has clips embedded into the rubber seal. If you original has clips, order accordingly. If your orignal seals are missing you can also look at the perimeter of the door itself - if you see a series of small holes every few inches around the door where the seals go, this indicates your vehicle used the seals with clips.
The cloth covering you are seeing is called bowdrill cloth. In the 1950's they used this to cover many of the rubber seals and weatherstrips. We do offer the correct style bowdrill cloth - it is available in either 2-1/2" wide or 5" wide. Both sizes are sold as a 5' roll.
