I am not sure if this will work for your 53 Lincoln. According to the application data we have for this part it is not a direct fit for your vehicle. That being said, it may work, but I am not 100% certain. Below is the information we have:
Fuel tank sending unit. Can be used for either 6V or 12V systems. Easily adjustable length brass float. Includes float, gasket & screws. Improved solid state electrical design. Install instructions included. Used on 1936-55 vehicles with original dash gauges only. OHMS READING: 88-94 empty / 14-18 full.
